Y2Q4) Meditating with oneself

      How do you understand “to meditate with oneself, not contrary to oneself”?

      I understand it as follow: first, after having taking a comfortable position, to carefully observe (the so-called meta-awareness) wat is going in inside of myself.
      Both in the body and in the mind and, if necessary, make adjustments.

      Instead of being ‘forgetfull’ and go with everything that comes up:
      the neighbours that are talking loud in the garden and then think: grrrrr, they shoudn’t do that! They disturb my meditation.
      Or making my shoppinglist for tomorrow.
      Or not seeing when I am becoming sleepy……
      Instead of all these things, seeing it and remember/knowing what I was doing and how to bring the mind back to the meditationobject.

      That’s how I understand it: having expectations with meditation, criticising or judging what happens in the session, wishing something different from what is happening would be meditating against oneself. Accept what there is, observe with curiosity and without clinging, giving space to what happens would be to meditate with oneself
